Perfect surprise proposal
This week I had the privilege of capturing one of the sweetest proposals I have ever seen. Two weeks ago, Jamison came to me saying that he is planning on proposing to his girlfriend, Thea and that he will need my help capturing that moment. Of course, I said yes, I've been dreaming of photographing a proposal for so long and I was so excited that he trusted me enough to be a part of such an important day.
First, we began by scouting out the potential location. After days of driving around and endless Google Maps research, we settled on Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. There we found a perfect spot where the proposal was going to happen. I assisted Jamison in finalizing the details, and we proceeded to develop a plan to have Thea come there without suspecting anything.
We arranged a fake photoshoot with her sister to lure her in without raising any questions. This way, we could make sure that Thea wore a pretty dress and had her hair and makeup done. We all know how important that is to us girls to look nice on special occasions like this.
When Thea and her sister arrived at the location of the proposal, I made sure that I stood in the perfect spot to get her reaction to seeing her fiancé for the first time.
We knew the proposal was a success when Thea told us that she had absolutely no idea that it was going to happen.
Both of their families were there to congratulate the couple.
After giving them a moment to celebrate with their family, I stole them away for a couple of portraits that they could remember this day by.
